A globally customizable infrastructure plan can be adapted for other countries in minimal expenses, time & changes.
Detailed Action plan comprises 19000 words & 134 sketches. Here we summaries in 4992 words & ten sketch.
ABSTRACT
We see a huge no. of road accidents in India every day, primarily caused by lack of standardization in the transport systems, undisciplined traffic and poor road conditions. As per the World health organization, India rank no. 1 in fatal accidents since it has the largest no. of two wheeler population. Approx 143,000 people get killed every year in which 66% people are in the age group of 18 - 50. Secondly, more fuel (approx. 14000 million US dollar per year) is being wasted because of poor infrastructure.
OUR OBJECTIVE
Road System in a country should be like the veins in a body assuring safe and smooth flow of transport.
In anticipation to minimize the accidents drastically & to save the fuel cost, I have prepared ‘New road & transport planning of entire India’ which includes 6 innovative ideas & 24 types of standardization. These are:-
A. FOR ROADS :
India has RH drive vehicles & LH traffic system.
1. Each road will have a separate 1.21m wide lane for two wheelers at the extreme right (almost first time in the world?).
2. All buses will travel at extreme left of the road & will travel within the marked red line.
3. The lanes in between the above two will be reserved for cars/commercial vehicles.
4. Standardization of parallel parking systems on roads:
a. For Two wheelers → three types → left side, Right side & On BRT road
b. For Cycle → three types → left side, Right side & On BRT road
c. For Three wheelers → two types → (Auto rickshaw is a private transport vehicle)
d. For small taxies → one type
e. For car & big taxies → one type
f. For buses → one type
g. Commercial vehicles → one type
• Approx. 80% accidents will be reduced after implementing ‘New Road & Transport Planning of entire India’ resulting in safe/comfortable travelling.
B. FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: -
1. Buses will follow a unidirectional traffic system with four door arrangement (men and families will have separate doors for getting in/out, almost first time in the world?).
2. Economical & safer bus rapid transit.
3. Bus stops at starting point & on route.
4. Bus stands & front roads infrastructure.
5. School bus, taxi, vans & three wheelers.
6. Commercial vehicles.
The standardization of new roads has been designed in such way that the existing roads can be converted rapidly & economically to the nearest standard. In short, the following 4 type of roads will cover 80% of the network -
1) 18.29m (60’) wide state-way.
2) 21.34m (70’) wide highway.
3) 27.44m (90’) wide highway.
4) 34.15m (112’) wide express way.
A. ROAD ACTION PLAN
The biggest drawback of the present public / goods transport system is the variety of roads & vehicles. Hence we have standardized total 45 types of the roads (excluding some exceptional roads & systems) & 23 types of public/goods vehicles.
We will create 5 new teams to maintain the road structure of the entire country. These will be:-
a. Road Width team
b. Fast Track Court
c. Road Level Team
d. Parking Area Team
e. Chota Pariwar Team
1. Information of markings :
• Continuous white line : Middle of the road and end.
• Broken white line : For two/four wheelers.
• Broken red line : For city busses.
: Emergency lane on expressways.
• Broken yellow line
(Inside city) : Two / three / four wheeler parking.
(Outside city) : Two wheeler lane.
• Green marking : Dividers.
B. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM: -The main divisions are: -
a. Railway system: - Long / short distance trains, metros, monorails, goods trains.
b. Goods carriers- LCVs to heavy duty long trailers.
c. Village / City Bus service.
d. Inter-city & inter-state bus transport.
e. Private transport such as auto Rickshaw, small / big taxi & rural (Share) taxi.
1. Bus stop: Total 3 types of bus stops.
2. Standard S.P.C. bus stands & front roads with Unidirectional traffic system (U.T.S) there will be 6 types of bus stands & front infrastructure.
3. Driving license system:-This system needs to be streamlined and strengthened completely. There will be written / oral / practical tests including ‘New road & transport planning of entire India’.
4. Some suggestions to educate people:-
a. 80% advertisement plan: -Wherever there will be an advertisement (e.g. on roads, buildings etc.), 20% space will be reserved for the government to display the matter on social reforms / awareness, public health planning/rules etc.
b. Government organizations will be allowed to utilize certain time on televisions, radios and mobile networks to cover social issues. This will also be applicable for newspapers/ magazines. These issues may also be added in the respective syllabus to create an early awareness among children.
c. People violating the rules will be penalized / fined based on the severity of the violation. This is necessary to impart discipline and awareness among the people.
d. Indian govt. already has a no. of plans in this regard. What is new in this?
Answer: Proposed “infrastructure development plan department” is a group of self motivated visionaries where each individual has an opportunity to contribute from the stage of conception to completion, in the interest of nation. This thought process and the will to execute these projects will offer a new dimension to the nation even though the proposal is not prepared by professional organizations having commercial interests.
5. There will be 6 advantages in SPC bus rapid transit (BRT) over existing bus rapid transit.
