The Missed Call of My Life

This is a story about a young guy Shiv who after failing to clear CA exams thrice decides to join a call centre in Delhi. He boards a train to Delhi after being assured of a job by his childhood friend Rohit. However, life didn’t follow the set plan, rather it had its own course. The moment he arrived in Delhi his life started to go haywire. From being duped at the railway station to experiencing a so-called earthquake made his first day quite embarrassing for him and comical for others. Even exhaustive preaching by Rohit about the call centre environment didn’t help him secure job at the nearby consulting agency. His overconfidence led to his downfall. His bad luck followed him everywhere and even his friend’s jack couldn’t overcome his bad luck. But finally luck shone on him and he managed to secure a call centre job. How? He had to go through many hurdles in terms of training before he could earn his first salary. In due course he met friends like Radhika, his mentor-cum-friend-cum foe and carefree Prashant. Destiny also introduced to him the love of his life Tamanna. He wanted to secure his job first before he could divulge his love for Tamanna, but just before he could propose to her, destiny showed its cruel side. What happened when the truth was finally revealed during an office party that someone else was ruling her heart? His overreaction almost cost him his job. Later he decided to part ways with Tamanna, but for how long he could keep himself away from her? What trick did Radhika play to bring the two of them together once again, though only as a friend? Did the equation between the two ever change, and if so who were responsible for it? What made Tamanna accept Shiv as her boyfriend? Life changes when you have someone special in your life and how would Shiv cope with all the changes? When everything goes smoothly you suspect something fishy, as in Shiv’s life nothing could remain normal for long. When his love life was back on track, his friendship with Radhika took a U-turn. Why did everyone in the organization think that he was responsible for his friend’s current state? Did he ever make amends with her friend Radhika? And finally when everything seemed to be on track, life showed its true colours. The very thought of losing the job and the trauma of his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend in the middle of night made him realize the true meaning of life. How did he cope with the sudden turn of events? Did he face and overcome them, or run away? Well, one leaves one’s footprints when one moves on. You can’t escape your past: you have to face it and that’s what Shiv had to face at last. Based on some real-life experience, I present to you a witty story about a youth whom most of us would be able to vibe with.
