To my Kashmir! "Whom I met, shall meet me again" Her frame of motion goes eerie glen We swear to kindle her ruined cottage GOD, do perk up our drooping courage To my master a note of praise He has intellect, his acumen gaze Shepherd of gather as keep the sheep My master has soul great-n-deep Pure at heart he achieves intellect ANGEL OF LOVE Her deep black and shallow eyes Reveal real facets of nature … Mysterious silence of dark night Exposes horrors and tyranny`s alight Looking her still eyes, inquires more She abhors me with a furious gaze O` glazing eye mine beating of heart In my yearning for light rainfall How long shall drown in her eyes Despite her eyes allayed my heart Lecherous passion was intending wrong A lusty trap of evil`s song Enticing, in her, belle`s pupil black Benighted bourn of sexual smack More I went closer to her Unveiled her shades of lusty fur SARCASM By God! Someday I will forget, Sluggishly spirited people of my land Wings dead, which hinders the cadet Of flights: frozen soul of my land Strangers come and pass, Have eyes closed, mouth shut Several sink in ocean of fire, Thousands helpless, I saw tonight Some though strong to make a wish Foreign dish and cartilaginous fish Apparently words, swords in reality Become prey of harsh amorality Someday I will grow up old Someday I will dare-cum-bold I will shout, what you hold, Shrewish people of my land THROUGH HELL ONCE I PASSED Hush! Fear when recall, through hell once I passed Creation of man, apparition insane, human`s wane Supported by evil, I remember! Man-eater handed Thunders wild that thrashed my eardrum, I refrain! Of carpet bomb, dive-bomb and land mine banded Devastate; Sparkle and strengthen; evil hell behind Soon may spread, afraid; engulf whole humankind! Horror of nonstop, stretched line of bullets appear All when you pass boundary of country; I swear!

About the Author
Shafqat, an author, poet and student; though 'Spring Thoughts: in summer light,' is his first published work but he had been writing for over three years now. He is born in Handwara region of Kashmir and went to Srinagar to study Natural Science. After completing his Higher Secondary Degree, he returned back to his home town to pursue his writing career and currently along with writing, he is studying English Literature. He has written content and articles for many online websites and communities.
