About the Book
Scattered Shades of Henna is a collection of 51 poems written over five decades. Poems originally written in Urdu, Hindi and Hindustani have been translated by Prof A K Nagar. For the convenience of readers, English translation and English transliteration exists side by side. The translation and the original are in unison with each other in terms of spirit and soul of the poetry. The collection consists of a broad spectrum of poetry – rhymed verses, free verses, blank verse and prose poetry. The poet has selected nature, romance, irony, satire as subjects of his poems. The readers will enjoy the spontaneity and subtleties of the poems.
About the Author
Mojib Nashtar is an accomplished Urdu poet. His poetic journey spans over five decades. He has published four books including Satrah Qatre (a collection of Haikus) and Hindustani Tarailey (a collection of Triolet – a French form of poetry). His poetry is a fine blend of classical trend and modern current. His language style is unique in the sense that some of his poems are in chaste Urdu, some in pure Hindi and some in Hindustani and all this with much ease and spontaneity.
