An Emotional Ride on Poetic Wings

“AN EMOTIONAL RIDE ON POETIC WINGS” is a tinge of different feelings of the poet. The book deals with a variety of collections- rich and real in descriptions. Poets treatment of different themes is very personal and subjective. She serves the readers with different flavours in life both joyous and sad. Her description of natural makes the readers feel their presence at that very same place. The celebration of different festivals is an invitation for the readers to be a part of fests and enjoy them despite their absence. In modern age and with the invention of luxurious facilities people are fast forgetting their culture. They want to achieve their goals on the trend of Machiavellian philosophy. Today, man is the greatest enemy of nature resultantly facing the ire of almighty God in various forms. The poet has tried to give a message to world through her this poetic medium. Most of her poems are thought provoking. To mention a few- her fascination towards the sweet singing bird koel is very captivating. One evening the poet gets attracted towards the voice of the bird hiding among mango leaves. She finds her voice quite thrilling and matchless. Poets love for mango fruit is very clear in some of her poems with the allusion of mango trees. In her poem “Monkey show” the poet feels amused by the exuberance performance of the monkeys, trained by their master but at the same time she does miss it for it being a passe now. She is also not untouched with the harsh realities of life . She has given a real description of different phases in life, one comes across and has to face this bitter fact which is inevitable with a smile . Her poem on ‘Death’ is very philosophical . Though she herself shams this fact yet this biting reality she paradoxically accepts . Her poem on ‘Funeral’ is a touching description at the loss of her dear father whom she could not meet in the end . The pictorial quality of the poem depicts the melancholy mood of the poet .The journey begins with the birth but attains the goal ‘with this last ride ‘ . The poems ‘Trauma of being unreal ‘ and’ Remain Forward looking ‘ are very inspiring and didactic .In the former ,the poet has chosen artificial flower for the message showing supremacy of real above artificial using figured phrases full of maxims while the latter highlights optimism in one’s depressing moments in the guise of poet’s father . In the poem ‘Rainbow’ the poet satirises the over use of laptops and computers for entertainment at the cost of the loss of aesthetic sense towards real natural beauty. Her poem “PARTRIDGE “ has proved to be a mile stone for her .Through this poem the poet expresses her joy being with the bird and having a ride overseas .She enjoys the union of east and west through this conveyance .
