About the Book
Meng Qinghua loves to tell stories. Although she never attended school in her village in Shandong, China, Meng is known for her intriguing tales and is adoringly called, “grandmother of stories” by the neighbor children. In her first collection of short stories told orally and then recorded and translated by friends, Meng presents one hundred entertaining tales that portray moral dilemmas, Chinese legends, and a variety of life challenges. About the Author
Meng Qinghua was born a storyteller. Unable to read or write, she has told more than a thousand stories about Chinese legends for over thirty years. Her first book has come about thanks to several volunteers who have recorded and translated her work. Meng lives in a village in Shandong, China.
