About the Book
Adrian O’Connor and Carmen Collins have been best friends since they were eleven. Now as they both begin college in California, they are certain they can leave their insecurities and past mistakes behind and focus on having fun. But truth be known, Adrian and Carmen have no idea of the challenges that lie ahead. Now roommates in a flat, Adrian prays every night for a chance to be fearless like Carmen. While he battles personal demons, Carmen thinks it would be nice to fall in love, especially when the gorgeous Jeroën Jarvis shows up in one of her college classes. Meanwhile, Adrian cannot deny the strong attraction he feels toward fellow student, Sheila David. As she and Adrian make friends and adjust to their newly-found independence, they each embark on separate journeys of self-discovery where they realize that there is something more to life that is deeper than either ever imagined. In this poignant novel, two friends begin a new chapter in their lives where they learn—with help from those who love them—to embrace their flaws.
