About the Book
When a group of young people discover that their probation officer, Jasmine Wight, is actually an ex-con, they begin investigating. What they learn is shocking. Piecing together clues from Ms. Wight’s old sketchbook, they suspect that she was framed by a gang of crooks who prey on elderly widows. Jasmine Wight poses a serious threat to their scam. Behind Jasmine’s back, the young people come up with a clever idea to scam the scammers. They use their collective (not entirely legal) skills to set up an elaborate trap. But when their plan goes south, the young hunters become the prey. They find themselves in the crosshairs of the murderous leader of the gang, Bruce Buzz Blake. Can Jasmine Wight, a self-confessed coward, dig up the courage to face her old nemesis and shut down their operation?
About the Author
When Kurt Scheibner enters his “fiction writing zone,” strange yet amazing things occur as if some other person has claimed his consciousness and taken over. Characters, as real as life, suddenly appear on the pages demanding to be heard. “They can be a bit overwhelming at times,” he admits.
