About the Book
It is often stated that “this would never happen to me” but one never knows what lies ahead and tragedy can strike any family at any time. This book has been written in the hope of bringing awareness to the silent struggles that teenagers endure. We are losing many sensitive yet talented teenagers too young and this book has been written in the hope that sharing a story may save a life. This is a true story, but not graphic. It has been written to demonstrate that suicide is prevalent in society and that it is so important to connect with teenagers or provide them with someone safe to talk with. A loss like this can happen irrespective of family dynamics, support networks and education. This story hopes to bring comfort and resilience as families rebuild their lives after a sudden loss of this sought. Depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and suicidal thoughts can arrive on any doorstep. Teenagers place significant importance on early relationships without the maturity to cope with the highs and lows and this is often the silent killer. In that moment family can seem insignificant. Rebuilding life without your loved one is the hardest journey to endure.
