Today the world is facing the problem of terrorism caused by the Islamic fundamentalists. The countries affected by this problem are USA, India, U.K. France and some European countries. All the terrorists are indoctrinated and trained by militant organizations located in Pakistan. It may deny its role in nurturing militancy. But Pakistan military, ISI, Religious organizations and some political parties help the militant groups to recruit and train the unemployed youth and convert them in jihads. They are provided with financial assistance and assured of a place in the heaven. The vulnerable unemployed youth fall prey to this temptation. They are made to believe that Islam is in danger and their service is required to protect Islam. In fact they are made to believe that Jihad against non-Muslims (infidels) is sanctioned by Holy Koran. They are taught that Jihad is the duty of every Muslim and if he is killed he is assured of JANNATH( Heaven) irrespective what sins he has committed. This doctrine makes terrorists feel that killing innocent human-beings is not a sin as long as it is done in the name Allah. All the Muslims believe killing an animal or a bird is not a sin if “BISMILLAH” ( in the name of god) is uttered before killing. This belief is reinforced in the Muslims right from Childhood. The imperialists have created two nations ie Israel and Pakistan purely on the basis of religion. Creation of Israel is the root cause of many conflicts in the Middle East. Pakistan was created not to satisfy the people but purely to satisfy the power-hungry politicians. Politicians of Pakistan and the military used Islam to divert the attention of the public from their misdeeds and failures. They found an enemy India to keep the people united and made them to accept partition. They used all techniques to make the people believe that Pakistan was created to protect Islam. War on terror cannot be won with guns and missiles. It is not possible to change the mindset of Islamic Fundamentalists. But the international community can change the mindset of liberal Muslims. They should be assured that the non-Muslim world is not their enemies and Islam is not in danger. They should be made to understand that it is not possible to have a single faith in this world. The very concept of god varies from person to person. Once the liberal Muslims understand and accept this in principle, they will stop supporting the militants. The militants once realize that they have lost the support of the Muslim world, would retreat and go in to oblivion. It will take time for this to happen. The international community has to wait patiently. The author of this book titled “Daughter of the enemy” makes an attempt to drive this point to the Muslims in the world especially in Pakistan. He created two characters, a true Muslim with a secular mind and his wife a true Hindu with a secular mind. Both practice their religion in their private life but practice secularism in the public life. In short the author wants to tell the Muslims through his fictional characters that Religion cannot be mixed with politics or public life in a true democracy. Secularism is the only answer to establish a true democracy. If this book can make any difference in the mind set of the liberal Muslims the author would feel that he has contributed something to enhance the prospects of the peace and prosperity of the Muslim world. The events that happen in this book after the general elections in 2013 are from the imagination of the author. It is not a prophesy but a fantasy. The information given in this book about the Pakistan politics is drawn from internet and The Dawn News paper. The information provided about the gulf war I and II is either from internet sources or from the personal knowledge of the author. This book gives information and some comments about Hinduism. The author has refrained from giving any such information or comment about Islam lest it may hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims. During the course of the story the characters do make comments about the religious organization, military, ISI and militants. The author accepts the responsibility for making such comments. They are not made to hurt any body’s feelings. They are made as information or for humor. USA being a true democracy will take some comments made on the American policy sportively. But the author has taken special care not make any adverse comments on any individual living or dead. For the readers who are not familiar with Pakistan politics a lot of details are provided to make them understand the story. For those readers who are familiar with Pakistan politics it may refresh their memory. The wealth of information provided in this book should enrich the knowledge of the readers.
