A bachelor picks up a diary sold on a pavement. He does so for two reasons, it appears very attractive and expensive and the price quoted by the street vendor is so low that it does not demand bargaining. The owner of the diary is a question mark since no information is furnished on the page provided for the purpose. Since it is holiday, he goes back to his room and starts reading. What this gentleman reads in the diary unfolds itself as an interesting story. The story runs in 3 phases. In the first phase the diarist writes about his work place, colleagues, friends, parents, sister's wedding, his pleasure trips, his travels to play cricket matches. In the second phase, he happens to meet Sangeetha who is introduced to him by his colleague Gracy. This is a very active and interesting phase when he is dating Sangeetha, they visit restaurants, movies, long rides out of Bangalore on his scooter. His first kiss, his first drive in a borrowed car, etc. this phase presents a window to life in Bangalore in the 1980's. The third phase is packed with emotions, after the diarist is diagnosed positive for abdominal cancer. He is thoroughly shaken for a brief period but regains courage and composure slowly. The reader of the diary sometimes relates to the incidents that have happened to the diarist.

The story revolves around a lighthearted, friendly, and lovable young man who has the habit of recording his life in a diary. The story runs in three phases. In the first phase, the young man writes about his routine at the office, family at his hometown, and friends. In the second phase, he happens to meet a girl, Sangeetha, through his colleague, Gracy. This part is naturally lively. The third phase is charged with the emotions and the trauma he undergoes after he is diagnosed positive for abdominal cancer. The characters easily bond themselves with the reader for their simplicity. They are down-to-earth and humane in nature. The readers can identify and relate to the characters in the story.
