In the cycle of birth, life and death, an effort of the individual was to discover his origin, identity and destiny and this also connected the thought process directly to cosmic ones. While doing so , the quest for singularity started tracing our ancestry linkages back through the generations, animal ancestors, primordial form of life , the basic ingredients of life and matter generated at the so- called beginning of the universe and vast ocean of energy pervading the space. Whether the singularity could be achieved extending such adventurous thinking forever backward? Whether all the roots are terminated at some point of time? The pool of queries borne by the thinkers of the centuries saw the unveiling light in attempt of disclosure of the mysteries with Hubble’s discovery in 1929 and the question of beginning of universe was brought into the realm of science and it was estimated that the singularity existed at a time about ten or twenty thousand millions years ago. The mathematical presentation of Penrose and Hawking proved in 1970 that there must have been a big bang singularity[1]. Again with developments in theoretical physics, especially after the inception of string theory the perspective has been changed . The pre-bang universe has now become the latest frontier of cosmology. In micro-level study, the elementary particle which is supposed to be the basic building block of the universe and from which all other particles are formed is the singularity .

About the Book
The book, The Quest for Singularity—the Twin Journey, describes the human efforts to know the origin of the universe, which happens to be as old as billions of years. In that infinitely large timescale, the human beings are occupying a very, very small period of time. Even then, there has been no dearth of initiatives and urge for gathering knowledge to unveil the secrets of source of the vast creation all around and to search for history of the primordial days. When one section of the intelligent humans utilized the power of their innovative minds to refine their knowledge through continuous experimental ways of verifying the natural processes, the other section tried to evolve extraordinary methods of majestic occult arts and process of self-realization. The deep rooted beliefs on supernatural power had been another way to get close to that mystic source. It has been, therefore, the journey through different paths in search for the same goal: the truth.
About the Author
Salil Kumar Bhaduri is a telecom engineer having post graduate degree of Calcutta University in Electronics and Telecommunication.. Shri Bhduri is also a science graduate with Honours in Physics from Calcutta University. He is a senior administrative grade officer of Department of Telecom, Govt. of India and at present working in BSNL. He has earlier published a book captioned as “Human Civilization and Televolution”
