About the Book

This book aims at study and analysis of the poetry of the first four major poets of the postcolonial trend in the Indian context. It examines and explores the various aspects and characteristics of their poetry which can qualify them on the double standards of both being Indian and modern at the same time in a justifiable manner.

About the Author

A perceptive critic, an erudite scholar and a poet who writes both in English and Odia, Subrat Kumar Samal is an MA in English from Ravenshaw University, Odisha. He obtained Ph.D on the poetry of Nissim Ezekiel, A.K.Ramanujan, Kamala Das and Jayanta Mahapatra from KIIT University,Odisha.He is widely published; his research articles have appeared in reputed and refereed journals. At present, Dr Samal is an Assistant Professor in English in Rourkela College,Rourkela, Odisha.
