I, A.K.B. Kumar, the Author married three decade ago, but in recent years, I started loving another lady. I knew her since my student hood. Innumerable times, especially during the wee hours of the night, we met in a secret rendezvous. We embraced for hours and hours; eventually dissolving ourselves into one. Every time she provided me more energy and enthusiasm. In return, whatever she asked me to render, I rendered. We have an offspring. That is this creation—the novel “All that glitters is not God.” My lover was none but Saraswathi or Minerva in exotic form and figure; the avathar (incarnation) I found in the literary dream-park.
We accept the periods B.C. (Before Christ) and A.D. (Anno Domini). We mean it 'In the Year of Lord'. Is it true that present days are in the year of god indeed? There is a Devil hidden in each one of us. Knowingly or unknowingly the devil raises its head at times. There, God won’t glitter, whereas the devil. We can see this situation in the day to day life—the conflicts, failure of democracy, the coup d' etat. Plus the growth of extremism prevails everywhere.
Confronting these, I planned to tell a tale. Who can narrate this story? A short living Human or an animal cannot. That is why I selected a tree—a gentle Banyan that is bold enough to narrate the stage by stage facts as fiction. I advised Banyan not to hurt anybody's feelings and treat each and every characters pari pasu. Mr. Banyan whole kindheartedly accepted it and kept his word till his death. In the novel, I created a made-up globe and an imaginary protagonist Banyan Tree for telling a story of 2000 years. The readers indeed will love the tree profoundly.
Some say: How could the author predict the exact happenings that are occurring around the world? The search for most wanted terrorists who created Wagon Tragedy, suffocation of multitude of innocents, man-made and God-given catastrophes and so forth. The author even precisely pictures the sacrifices and the trial of three major religious leaders Billa, Hova and Eysa. Besides, many more current political scenarios like the illegal acts performing by the self-made-military-executives under President General Crow Black permitting to play God, promoting the recent terrorist encounter drama against many Democratic-Heads plus various corruption scams and V.I.Ps having cannibalism are exactly foretold in this beautiful novel. God bless the Author to render his marvelous novel to this sky level—the work is packed with informative and trustworthy ingredients.
The answer is: I read stories and learned histories of the past and present. I imbibed major mythology of the world. This autobiographical fantasy fiction of Mr. Banyan—the time, place, the animate and inanimate articles and characters are pure imaginary. Any resemblance caused is mere coincidental.
Actually the novel depicts as a blend of the three major religious texts of the world. And if all these multitudes imbibe exactly the author's ideas, they would rather be welded to one. There by a unique unity from diversity would occur unanimously in this universe.
Most of the religions consider the trinity concept. Here the author establishes the atom as the trinity—Neutron, Proton and Electron. God, as we all know has no shape, no cast, no creed, no color or sex... God is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. The only such phenomenon we feel is the electron. Electron is in iron as well as in rust. Electron is energy and plenty available everywhere. If we’re devoted, Electron provide boon to us and destroys if we snub sans discrimination. Who so ever switch it on, it will help. Who so ever helps human is the so-called God. Hence electron is the real God.
Unlike other novels, normally covers only a single subject of a family or a society or a nation, percontra, this novel has no perimeter, parameters, or limitation; for this explains the stories of myriads of interactions of three nations, three religions, and three political parties globally. Above all this novel enlightens various mysteries of life. But all on fake names and addresses.
I am certain that if the readers shall assimilate this novel, it would bring harmony and peace.
Tree doubts: "Would the whole world be a single family?” Read this novel you’ll get the answer.
Tree laments: "O! Lord, make me blind, for I can't witness the war celebrations in the world"
Tree shouts: "Any Gory Glory is not at all a glory"
Tree advises: "Peace Gained by war will never remain peaceful."
This page tries to help the reader to understand the space and time of and the reason for this book. This is the reader's own story. While reading this, you will feel that you yourself are the author and the reader, the creator and the creation, the hero and the villain. The climax occurs in your own period of living and in your own native place. In this book, you are the hot and the cold, the hard and the soft. You are the rude and the gentle, the ups and the downs, the fire and the water. You are the gases helpful from life to death, beneficial bacteria that increase the fertility rate and harmful bacteria that bring decadence. In short, you are the God and the devil in this tale.
This fictional work does not intend to hurt any living or dead person; however, is absolutely dedicated to the entire martyrs who sacrificed their lives for their nations during various wars.
The language used by the tree to narrate this story, especially the indications of figures of speech, may confuse you, as it is alien to our time and space.
If you find the tree as metaphysical, it has its base on the academic support of his mother—the veteran and connoisseur Earth as the Earth is the oldest, largest and greatest university ever established by the Almighty God for us.
