The book is aiming at assisting the professional technical institutions offering professional UG & PG programs, and to become global operators and educational service providing enterprises through the philosophy of installing quality assurance in their programs & institutions. The legal means is getting Accreditation Certifications from their own National Regulating Agencies like NBA (National Board of Accreditation) and NAAC in India as well as International Quality Assurance agencies like IAO (International Accreditation Organization). It rightly expresses its message to institutions of higher education that ‘Rise and Grow Global’ through its nine chapters given below. 1. Economy & Technical Education: here the author is very successful in establishing the rationale for quality assurance by connecting it with the economy of the family, community and country of students who are pursuing higher education in the hope to get a better placement as a wage earner or as an entrepreneur. 2. Outcome based Technical Education: in this chapter the author explains in a very logical and in simple words the concept of outcome based professional education system and how it is different with the currently used course based model of education in most of the developing countries. 3. Innovations for Quality Improvements: this chapter illustrates different reforms and best practices which can be applied in most of the higher education institutions. The author perhaps hopes that the faculty after implementing such innovations and reforms shall be empowered to understand the complexities of Outcome based educational practices. 4. Curriculum Modifications (to accomplish POs & PEOs): this chapter elaborates the implied modifications in the curricular structure and content to fulfill the academic requirements of developing global employ-ability skills or POs. The Global mobility of graduates will be ensured if all the Washington accord member countries develop GAs or POs at the time of Graduation from their UG/ PG programs. Such modifications are imminent in case of India and similar countries as their higher education is still operating on the traditional Course based Input-Output model, where output is success in university examinations. 5. NBA Accreditation of UG Engg. Programs: this chapter gives lot many examples and explanations for filling SAR’s qualitative criteria such as 1- Vision, Mission and PEOs, 2- POs, and 3- Curriculum. Modifications, 6. NBA Accreditation of Diploma Engg. Programs, 7. NBA Accreditation of PG Technical Programs (MBA & MCA), 8. NAAC Accreditation, 9. IAO Accreditation. Thus, it covers a great variety of higher educational programs offered by most professional technical Institutions who are offering such programs. Particularly this book shall prove to be a boon for orienting faculty members who are currently preparing or planning to prepare Self-Assessment or Study Report (SAR or SSP) in order to acquire Quality Assurance Accreditation from regulatory agencies who are signatories of Washington Accord and their criteria are based upon the most complex Outcome based professional education system. The book has been written by Prof SK Soni of India and therefore it shall be of great use by Indian subcontinent and Africa-Asia region. However, it shall be quite useful for all countries who follow outcome based education system as followed in Washington Accord signatory countries

About the Book
Improving and assuring the quality of professional educational services is the only last option left for forward-looking educational service enterprises or colleges or universities for surviving with pride and creating delight in customer students. For relatively younger economies like India and other Asian African countries, quality assurance has become almost mandatory from both the point of views: business growth and complying with the requirements of regulatory agencies. Many Asian countries have become provisional signatory members of Washington Accord for facilitating global mobility of graduates from universities of one country to another country for further education and/or seeking employment opportunities. Recently, regulatory agencies of many developing countries have adopted outcome-based professional education model for formulating criteria and evaluation procedures for quality assurance and accreditation certification. The author, while doing consultancy work in India, has felt that faculty, in general, are not very much aware of the requirements of outcome-based education model and, therefore, face difficulties in preparing self-assessment reports and supporting evidence record files. It is hoped that this book shall be of adequate help to faculty and management of professional education institutions and universities in understanding the requirements of accreditation and in making necessary preparations of application and documentation.
About the Author
I have 45 + years of experience in teaching technical professional students, training Technical Teachers, developing trainers of HRD divisions of industry and developing learning - teaching resources for Professional institutions as well as HRD training centers. I had received training in aspects of Technical/ Professional Education and Quality Assurance aspects in USA, UK and Japan under different fellowship I have been teaching Education Technology to PG scholars and participating / contributing in the team handling World Bank aided Quality Improvement Projects. During last two years i am practicing as consultant for assisting in preparation of documentation for acquiring Accreditation from India National Regulatory agencies like National Board of Accreditation, & National Accreditation and Assessment Council, India and International Accreditation Organization, USA. I have helped a number of Professional Institutions and Universities spread all over India. This book shall serve a very useful guide to all faculty members in India and abroad who are engaged in preparing documentation/ Self assessment reports etc
