About the Author

About the Authors Tareak A. Rather is an associate professor (Sociology) at the Centre of Central Asian Studies, University Kashmir, India. His research papers have been published in national as well as international journals of repute. His book Agrarian Reforms in Post-Communist Uzbekistan was well received in the academic circles across the country. Dr. Rather has travelled extensively to Europe and Central Asia, and has been visiting fellow at Department of Sociological Studies, University of Sheffield, U.K and Academy of Sciences, Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Mohd Aslam Bhat is working as a Research Assistant in the Sociology Unit of the Centre of Central Asian Studies, University of Kashmir, India. He holds a PhD in Youth Studies and has published research articles in various reputable national and international journals including, International Review of Sociology, Asian Social Work and Policy Review, Debatte: Journal of Contemporary Central and Eastern Europe and South Asia Research. Dr Bhat has also carried out extensive field work in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and the Fergana Valley of Uzbekistan in 2012, researching youth transitions and youth culture in post-Soviet Uzbek society.
