About the Book

The present book titled ‘The Handbook of Developmental Disabilities and Rehabilitation’ attempts to clarify specific doubts and misconceptions related to the field of disability and rehabilitation. The path from disability to rehabilitation encompasses a special intervention technique called Behaviour Modification that works best with children. About the Author

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Dr. NEERJA PANDEY received PhD in Psychology from Osmania University, Telangana; MPhil in Rehabilitation Psychology from NIEPID Secunderabad, Telangana; and B.Ed. (regular) from Gorakhpur University, Uttar Pradesh. She is currently imparting her wisdom as Assistant Professor of Psychology at Amity Institute of Behavioural and Allied Sciences (AIBAS) in Amity University Lucknow Campus since 2013. She has published research papers in psychology which include Journey of Portrayal of Disability from Mother India to Margarita with a Straw: A Critical Review. (Aug 2018), Creation of Inclusive Classroom: A Conceptual Framework. (May 2019), and many more. Her notable contribution to psychotherapy includes ‘EFT as a tool to resolve anxiety: a case study approach (July 2020)’- a topic in which she takes considerable pride in teaching and using as a psychotherapeutic tool. Her primary work in Rehabilitation helped her write a chapter on Rehabilitation in the book titled ‘Disability is not Inability – Shift Paradigm from Charity to Right’ (2021). Other than being registered practitioner with Rehabilitation Council of India (CRR No.: A – 10626), she is a trained Integrated Clinical Hypnotherapist, certified from EKAA Foundation as well as a past-life regression therapist from TASSO International, Netherlands. She is also the EKAA Foundation Course Facilitator. A supportive wife of an army officer, now retired, pillar of strength to two beautiful daughters, and a home maker, I have a zest for learning which motivated me to paint the canvas of my life with colours out of ‘ordinaire’. Opportunity to travel and live in most parts of India has been advantageous. It gave me a rich knowledge, appreciation, and insight into different cultures and related issues. Being a voracious reader with eclectic interests keeps me well informed and updated.
