The title of such a weird document was quite shocking, even though it looked official and authentic. But my perusal of it was disturbed when I heard a bloodcurdling yell. My wife had just been doing a bit of exploring herself. I found her standing in front of the small refrigerator unit with the freezer door wide open. Facing her on the bottom shelf, covered with a coating of frost, but still quite discernable was a huge revolver. There were a few other suspicious items there too, but none of them were food stuffs. After closing the freezer I tried soothing her down as she was well on her way towards total hysterics. I had her lie down on the bed, where fatigue caught up with her and she quickly fell asleep. I’d never even imagined that such a document would ever be produced and distributed. Such a text was completely unbelievable. Could it have been a joke? And if so, it would be a very repulsive joke. But I read it with my own eyes. At least I now had a name to attach to the stranger with a sixty-odd year old address, a quarter of the way around the world. Holding such a document in my hand and with the kind of items he had left in the freezer, worried me no end. Could he still be as dangerous as he might have been so very long ago? The pictures I envisioned were very mixed-up. His possessing such a dangerous looking weapon, owning such a beautiful camera, being in possession of such a damning piece of paper, and yet on the run. He’s trying to escape from something or someone from his past. What goes on here? After reading and rereading that notice my curiosity was piqued still further. I opened the freezer door once again and, with great trepidation, reached out for the frost-encrusted revolver that had lain there on the bottom shelf and removed it carefully. Walking over to the brighter table lamp I sought out any signs that would tell me if this was actually a Colt 45. After ascertaining that it certainly was, I quickly returned it to the freezer, hoping that my warm hands hadn’t melted off enough of the frost for my finger-prints to transfer to this monstrous weapon.

About the Book
This is an anthology of seven short stories authored by Shmuel Shimshoni. Two of his favorite stories, "Än Impulsive Compulsion" and "Common Sense Annuls the Evidence of Valid Witnesses" are borrowed from the author's previously published book. These are included for the enjoyment of you, the reader who might not have read his first volume "No Alternative". These stories are the results of adaptation of the imaginative powers that only mankind has. The author hopes that you, the reader will enjoy perusing these stories, at least as much as the author has enjoyed creating them.
About the Author
The author, Shmuel Shimshoni, born in Montreal Canada and now living in Israel has created a number of imaginative essays, some bordering on fictionalized reality. The situations that he incorporated in this book, "Factional Fiction"though plausible are partially products of his active imagination. They even include a dream within a dream about the Garden of Eden. Shmuel Shimshoni, past the age 80 is on full time, and even overtime retirement. He likes to record his experiences and thoughts, even fictionalizing and spicing them up with little humorous angles. Having been an electrician, master locksmith, pneumatic automation technician, undertaker and filling in spare time with varied volunteer experiences; he has plenty of material to write about. That is what he did when he incorporated much of his collection into this volume, connecting the fruit of his pen into one tome. Shmuel lives with wife Sarah in the center of Israel and are able to keep in frequent contact with their three children, more than a dozen grandchildren and their multitude of great grandchildren.
