About the Book

Samuel Lee was an army intelligence officer assigned to the U.S. Office of Strategic Services. He was an able and brave field agent active in covert missions in the German occupied territory. His assignments included rescues and evacuation of defecting Nazis radar scientist and Wehrmacht officers, also downed Allied airmen. Together with his Heidelberg University schoolmates, he organized Resistance fighters launching attacks against the German forces. Samuel was ordered to apprehend or terminate a German Jewish atomic scientist and his wife hiding in the Shanghai ghetto. The wife was Samuel’s first girlfriend from Berlin.


About the Author

After graduating from university, Jay-Chung Chen came to Pasadena, California, to pursue graduate studies. He obtained a PhD in aeronautics and started his career and family in Pasadena. After retirement, while continuing to teach a course on “Aviation Meteorology”, he finally began his lifelong hobby: writing spy novels. Over the years, Jay-Chung Chen has published six novels. From Heidelberg to Shanghai is the first written in English.
