About the Book

Invoking a spiritual as well as a physical journey to an exotic, distant land, The Land of Gods features a collection of photographs by Patrice Delmotte. The works capture the beliefs, ceremonies, and rituals of Bali. The photos awaken the senses, presenting a photographic promenade—capturing the smell of the incense, the music of the gamelan, and the smiles and gestures of friendship the Balinese are proud to extend. Influenced by Sebastião Salgado, Delmotte offers an aesthetic research of light and more particularly of the light of his youth, the clear-obscure so popular to the Flemish painters. The Land of God effectively captures the photographer’s deep passion and love for Asia.

About the Author

Patrice Delmotte has participated in an array of international exhibitions featuring his photographs. He currently lives in Taipei, Taiwan.
