About the Book
Tarranum (Tara) with a soul of a dancing gypsy, finds her utopian refuge in Asad, a sculptor who, she feels has the looks of a mythical hero, and artistic abilities of Michelangelo. Both feel their souls are sculpted together, their union predestined! Her fascination with Greek mythology and Renaissance art enables her to visit Greece and Italy, with Asad. She is spell bound! But there is a ‘Colossus of Panic,’ who will make every effort to see her destroyed. Like a Phoenix resurrecting itself from the ashes, she rises from a debris of her shattered dreams and rebuilds herself, with the help of Adeel. In a society with wealth, western education, and sophistication, there lurks a sadistic attitude towards women, and bitter religious fanaticism, with blind adherence to rituals and inherited superstitious beliefs. Here we see glimpses of Medieval ages, soon to engulf the society in dark and menacing clouds of mists. So, Let your hearts light up with the resonance of Tara’s music, and the rhythm she creates with her dancing. Let your soul feel her anguish! Tara will stay with you for ever.
