About the Book
THORN WITHIN is a novel with a recounting thrilling story originating from Kambara village in Mũrang’a County. The story portrays how fast technology is finding its way into the society and how the digital era is affecting the society’s conventional way of living where Kamero takes the mantle to spearhead development at Kambara and its neighbourhood. Mũrũ Wa Njjama, a young bright young man will bring good tidings in the family after he spearheads planting of coffee that was known as `black gold’ because it used to fetch good money. Wangũ is a wise, peaceful and respected elderly woman in the village but some of her family members are a constant source of shameful behaviors and of indecent personality. Ngero takes advantage of feeding his father and because of that Mwania lacks authority over him. Ngero involves himself in all manner of gimmicks. His polygamous marriage will land him to a woman who had joined a notorious criminal gang. Gakaria is a drunkard and an awful witch who does not care but goes ahead to bewitch everyone including her own husband. Things will unfold after her burial and the villagers will realise that Gakaria’s ghost was still haunting them when it turns out that her daughter Gachambi was to succeed her after she was found at her mother’s grave performing some rituals. The family is composed of characters that are painful thorns amongst themselves and also to the entire village. The story is comprised of a series of episodes that keep the reader in suspense and must keep on turning pages to grasp the unfolding revelations all the way.
About the Author
The author of Thorn Within is a Kenyan citizen who was born in Mũrang’a county, Kenya. He studied in Mũrang’a for his Primary. He completed his ‘O’ Level education in an academy school in Kajiado. After passing his Secondary school education, he joined High School ‘A’ Level education at The Highway School in Nairobi. After his ‘A’ Levels, he joined Cambridge College where he studied ICT and later St. Joseph College still in Nairobi. The author worked as a tutor in several ICT institutions that include Computer Pride Ltd and Infotech Ltd among others before joining one of the prominent legal firms in Kenya. He later joined United Nations
