This book dwells on the clash of culture and traditions among the people. It also focus on acceptance and forgiveness. Sabah, North Borneo also known as land Below the Wind, is the epitome of ethnic and national unity. Intermarriages are very common. However, there are people still seeped in culture and traditions, that at times make it difficult for them to accept others from outside their ethnic group. While telling the story, the author hopes to accord readers a glimpse of the people’s way of life.
About the Author
A Sabahan writer is committed to promote the state’s diverse cultures through her writings, to preserve its rich cultural heritages from being forgotten by the young generation. She, said her career as a hotel manager will not stop her from writing as it is her way to promote the colourful traditions of the communities in Sabah. According to her, the communities of various ethnicity in the state have many unique traditions and cultures that need to be introduce to the public especially to the young generation who have started to forget their own roots. Traditional arts and heritage will fade away if there is no actions taken to preserve them, she added. In this regard, she hopes that through her works in novel, poem, drama scripts and essays, she can help in promoting Sabah’s rich cultural heritage.
